The conversation falters a bit, then, slightly bemused at the question, Andreas Caminada politely says: “It’s a vehicle that always fits – whether I’m just fetching vegetables from the farmers market in the neighboring village, taking the kids to football training, or have a business meeting in Zurich.”
So, evidently, the Audi RS e-tron GT is an everyday vehicle for the restaurant owner from Graubünden in Switzerland. “Whether it’s short or long distances, I enjoy it every time I drive it.”
Caminada runs his Michelin-starred restaurant and boutique hotel Schloss Schauenstein in the tranquil village of Fürstenau. His fine-dining DNA embodies the flavours of the Alpine region based on local products, paired with culinary art that builds on the principles of French haute cuisine.

Andreas Caminada has been driving electrically since the introduction of the first Audi e-tron in 2019 and promptly installed two charging points at Schloss Schauenstein that year. “I live with my family right next to the castle and always charge my car here in front of the house.”
The entrepreneur often takes his Audi RS e-tron GT for the 1.5-hour drive to business meetings in Zurich. Caminada never worries about where to charge his car: “In the morning, I start fully charged. The range is more than enough for my everyday life. I’m always very relaxed when I’m on the road.”

On longer trips abroad, Caminada trusts the routing of the navigation system, which guides him to fast-charging stations along his route as needed. “I have a cup of coffee while it charges and then I’m off again. The hotels at my destinations now actually all have their own charging point.”
When he returns home, however, he always notices how important it is to expand his own charging infrastructure: “We must offer more charging points soon. Because more and more guests are coming to Schloss Schauenstein with an electric vehicle.”

Three questions about electromobility for Andreas Caminada
01. What was your biggest surprise when you first switched from a combustion engine vehicle to an electric car?
I was a bit worried that a more ecological way of getting around wouldn’t be as sporty as it used to be and that I would miss it. But it turned out quite differently.
02. Cruising or racing?
In everyday life, I prefer cruising. But I also had the chance to test an electric Audi once on a closed race track. It was quite impressive: pure power and fast acceleration, simply insane driving pleasure.
03. Form or function?
The form and design of the Audi e-tron GT appeals to many people. Something I noticed yet again on my last trip to Italy. In Milan, people stared after the vehicle
